Reo & Darlyn Prenup + SDE

This is a story of a very special day that finally happened because of one planless Sunday afternoon not too long time ago.

Reo and Darlyn, both adventurous individuals, have already met, er, not too long time ago. Because both of them are very free-spirited people, they got along just fine to every little things that they have done (and they still have yet to do). Reo is a real life bassist and Darlyn seems to be quite okay with that. Then, probably ran out of wild and crazy things to do (no pun intended), he just basically proposed to her and boom!.. marriage is to follow real soon. And I am just lucky to be a part of their wedding day.

But I almost did not close the deal with them due to a reason I don’t wanna discuss here. But luckily, I got the deal a month before the wedding.

Some memorable moments during the wedding was when Reo was just jolted with excitement. He arrived on the church an hour before the wedding and he was the one who got really nervous and agitated – not quite similar to the ones we normally see, where the bride has to do the nervous thing.

Alanis Morisette sang a song about rain and wedding: well, it rained on their wedding where it should had been a garden wedding. Good thing the couple – who are easy to get along and work with by the way – already got a PLAN B, which was to have the ceremony inside the function room. But even though it rained, fireworks display went out for everyone to see.

And I was very much glad that the guests who witnessed their exchange of vows attended from the beginning up to the very end: a rare feat for weddings here in the Philippines. And oh, the wedding ended successfully.

Bottom line: Life is an adventure. Sometimes it does not matter where you landed, you also have to appreciate the ride.

Hadj & Carrot Prenup SDE

HADJI & CARROT

I hope that someday, this couple will forgive me for the things that they will discover after reading this. During their wedding day, I just got my new Canon DSLR. And at that time, I hadn’t got the time to practice my new weapon, so I tried, tested, and experiment on the Hadj and Carrot’s wedding day (so sorry). And there were a lot of troubles occoured during that day: first, the memory of my Mac almost ran out of memory because I wasn’t really yet used to in using the camera. I had to do editings, then I had to adjust, and I had to shoot if there were any errors – yes, just me. Not only that, I was also worried because we lacked a man to handle the FOTOLOCO booth. And that day, my eyes hurt because of not being used to in using the DSLR. But so far the shoot was smooth. The lesson I learned that day is you can learn the best way by using your weapon on the battlefield!

Now back to Hadj and Carrot’s wedding. The wedding ceremony was celebrated at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Gusa on a Saturday afternoon. Then the reception followed at the Dynasty Court Ballroom. This is probably the grandest reception I had worked on so far. It was well lit, well designed (the theme was CITY, and there were street signs scattered around). I also liked it because the whole scene signified their journey to marriage. Carrot (the bride) is from Mindanao who met Hadj (the groom from Luzon) when she started working in Manila. Hadj started out as a “secret admirer” when he courted Carrot. After a few attempts, he did get her hands and her sweetest ‘yes’. And years after, I was there at the reception which was symbolizing the city, where it all happened. The reception and the program really went out smoothly. And that I would like to say CONGRATULATION and BEST WISHES to the couple!

On a more personal note, we took some shots with the bride at the Mulberry. I found out some locations around the hotel’s vicinity that are good for bridal shots.

Till next time!
